3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH POWERS OF ARKANSAS (MECHANICAL
5 SERVICE COMPANY) IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO
6 HUNDRED TEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY-TWO
7 DOLLARS AND EIGHTEEN CENTS($210,872.18),FOR THE PURCHASE
8 AND INSTALLATION OF FOUR (4) HVAC UNITS, INCLUDING
9 ASSOCIATED HARDWARE AND LABOR; AND FOR OTHER
10 PURPOSES.

12 WHEREAS,the Little Rock Zoo has identified the need to replace or upgrade HVAC systems in
13 three(3)critical buildings:Café Africa,the Big Cats Building,and the Citizen Science Center,to improve
14 climate control for both animal welfare and visitor comfort; and,
15 WHEREAS, the purchase and installation of four (4) HVAC units, including all associated
16 hardware and labor, will be made using the TIPS-USA cooperative purchasing agreements Contract
17 #25010501 and Contract#23010401, which authorize the City to utilize these contracts for procurement;
18 and,
19 WHEREAS, the total cost of this HVAC project is Two Hundred Ten Thousand, Eight Hundred
20 Seventy-Two Dollars and Eighteen Cents($210,872.18), and funds are available for this expenditure from
21 Special Project Fund 108129/63211/S10A237Z"Zoo Improvements."
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
23 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
24 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
25 Powers of Arkansas (Mechanical Service Company) for the purchase and installation of four (4) HVAC
26 units and associated hardware and services at Café Africa, the Big Cats Building, and the Citizen Science
27 Center at the Little Rock Zoo.
28 Section 2. The total cost for the project shall not exceed Two Hundred Ten Thousand, Eight
29 Hundred Seventy-Two Dollars and Eighteen Cents ($210,872.18), and shall be paid from Special Project
30 Fund 108129/63211/S10A237Z"Zoo Improvements."

1 Section 3. The contract shall be entered into pursuant to TIPS-USA cooperative purchasing
2 agreements Contract #25010501 and Contract #23010401, which authorize the City to utilize these
3 contracts for procurement;and,
4 Section 4. Severability. In the event any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of this
5 resolution is declared or held invalid or unconstitutional,such declaration shall not affect the validity of the
6 remaining portions of this resolution.
7 Section 5. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent
8 with the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
