3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SYMETRA LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY IN
5 AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY-FIVE
6 THOUSAND DOLLARS ($755,000.00), TO PROVIDE GROUP LIFE,
7 GROUP ACCIDENTAL DEATH AND DISMEMBERMENT, AND LONG-
8 TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE COVERAGE TO CITY EMPLOYEES
9 AND THEIR DEPENDENTS,FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY
10 1,2026,TO DECEMBER 31,2026; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

12 WHEREAS,the City provides certain Group Life,Group Accidental Death and Dismemberment,and
13 Long-Term Disability Insurance Coverage options for its employees and their dependents;and,
14 WHEREAS, after a competitive selection process,it was determined that the most qualified applicant
15 with the best overall rate to provide such insurance options for the current City employees is Symetra
16 Insurance;and,
17 WHEREAS,the voluntary benefits are optional for City employees and are solely at the expense of
18 the employee.
19 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
21 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Symetra Life Insurance
22 Company, in an amount not to exceed Seven Hundred Fifty-Five Thousand Dollars($755,000.00), to
23 provide Group Life and Group AD&D Insurance for City employees and their dependents, for the period
24 of January 1,2026,to December 31,2026.
25 Section 2. Funds required for this contract are held in Accounting Unit No. 100000,Account Numbers.

27 Section 3.Severability.In the event any title,section,paragraph,item,sentence,clause,phrase,or word
28 of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional,such declaration or adjudication
29 shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the
30 portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution.
31 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, or parts of the same, that are
32 inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
