Home My WebLink About16827 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,827 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH DELTA DENTAL PLAN OF ARKANSAS, 5 INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION, FIVE 6 HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,500,000.00), TO PROVIDE 7 ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING 8 JANUARY 1, 2026, TO DECEMBER 31, 2026; AND FOR OTHER 9 PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, in Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 16,446 (October 15, 2024), the Board of Directors 12 authorized the City Manager to enter into a contract with Delta Dental Plan of Arkansas, Inc., for Admin- 13 istrative Services only for the period of January 1,2025,to December 31,2025, for an amount not to exceed 14 One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,500,000.00) for employee coverage, including Admin- 15 istration and Claims Service, for a one(1)-year period; and, 16 WHEREAS,the City offers Group Dental Insurance for City employees and their dependents; and, 17 WHEREAS, in October 2020, due to the rising costs of a Fully-Insured Dental Plan,the City decided 18 to move to a Self-Insured Dental Plan with Delta Dental Plan of Arkansas, Inc., providing the Administra- 19 tive Services only; and, 20 WHEREAS,the basic cost for employee coverage, including administration and claims service to the 21 City is not to exceed One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars($1,500,000.00)for 2025; and, 22 WHEREAS,Resolution No. 15,327(October 20,2020)authorized the initial term of the contract with 23 Delta Dental for 2021; and, 24 WHEREAS, the contract term for 2025 is the fifth automatic renewal and is subject to two (2) more 25 automatic renewals. 26 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 27 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 28 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Delta Dental Plan of Arkansas, 29 Inc., for Administrative Services only for the period of January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, for an 30 amount not to exceed One Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,500,000.00) for employee 31 coverage, including Administration and Claims Service, for a one(1)-year period. 32 Section 2. Funds for this contract are included the 2025 budget line item for Group Dental Insurance 33 accounting units#100000,#101003, and accounts#21220,#53200. [Page 1 of 21 1 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this Resolution is declared or adjudged to be 2 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this 3 Resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 4 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this Resolution. 5 Section 4. Repealer.
