Conservation Easement Project Review

Dear Mr. Carey:
This letter is in response to the proposed project plans submitted to the
Arkansas Historic Preservation Program (AHPP) for our review. As you are
aware, AHPP holds a Deed of Conservation Easement on this property and
we are required to review and approve any alterations that affect the exterior
appearance of the building and property grounds.
We have reviewed the proposed fencing plans submitted by Laura Sander of
Ingle Fence Company. In addition, I conducted a site visit to look at the
placement of the proposed fence. There will be no visual impact from the
street view of the front of the house. The vegetation on the west side of the
house will conceal the west side of the fence. On the east side of the house,
the fence will only be visible from the alley adjoining the side elevation of the
house. The treated pine fence proposed has the identical dogear tops and six
foot dimensions as the neighboring fences of the properties to the south and
west of the house. I appreciate your request for this fencing based on your
responsible dog ownership needs.
AHPP staff members have determined that the proposed work meets the
a*c Secretary of Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation. We have no outstanding
concerns and approve of the work plans submitted. For phased projects,
