1. Any new site development must comply with the City's minimal landscape and buffer ordinance
requirements.
2. A perimeter planting strip is required along any side of a vehicular use area that abuts adjoining
property or the right-of-way of any street. One (1) tree and three (3) shrubs or vines shall be
planted for every thirty (30) linear feet of perimeter planting strip.
Industrial sites adjacent to other industrial sites are not required to provide perimeter planting
strips outside of the front yard setback.
Landscape plan was not submitted. Permit cannot be released until landscape requirements are
met. Additional and complete review will be made upon the receiving landscape plan, and
survey. Submit three (3) full size copies of the landscape plan and one (1) full size copy of the
survey for review and approval.
4. Landscape requirements could include and may not be limited to the following.
Screening requirements will need to be met for any vehicular use areas adjacent to the street
right of way or any adjacent properties of a more restrictive use. Screening requirements will
need to be met for the parking areas adjacent to the Shackelford W Blvd right-of-way. Provide
screening shrubs with an average linear spacing of not less than three (3) feet on center within
the required landscape area
For any site, trees from two (2) different genuses are required. At least twenty-five (25) percent
of the trees on the site outside of those required for screening purposes are to be of evergreen
variety.

Provide plant material schedule / legend and size specifications. In order to receive credit trees
must be two (2) inches in caliper and shrubs must be eighteen (18) inches in height at
installation.
Building landscape areas shall be provided at the rate equivalent to planter strip three (3) feet
wide along the vehicular use area. One (1) tree and four (4) shrubs shall be planted in the
building landscape areas for each forty (40) linear feet of vehicular use area abutting the
building.
Employee parking or parking used by the general public must meet interior landscape
requirements. Interior landscape areas shall comprise at least eight (8) percent of any vehicular
use area containing twelve (12) or more parking spaces. Trees shall be included in the interior
landscape areas at the rate of one (1) tree for every twelve (12) parking spaces. Industrial yards
and compounds used for storing materials, manufactured products, equipment, truck loading
and unloading are excluded from interior landscape requirements.
All landscape areas shall be protected as per City of Little Rock Landscape Ordinance (Sec. 15-
100). Wheel stops, and/or concrete curb and gutter will be required between vehicular use
areas and any turf or planting area.
All ground or roof mounted mechanical systems shall be screened from abutting properties and
streets. Any trash receptacles or pickup shall be oriented away from a primary street side of the
property and screened from the public right-of-way. Screen shall exceed the height of the
dumpster or trash containment areas by at least two (2) feet not to exceed eight (8) feet total
height.
Irrigation is required for all sites exceeding one (1) acre. Provide note on the landscape plan
stating "an automatic irrigation system shall be provided for all new landscape areas and
provide 100% full coverage".
The development of two (2) acres or more requires the landscape plan to be stamped with the
seal of a Registered Landscape Architect.
The City Beautiful Commission recommends preserving as many existing trees as feasible on this
site. Credit toward fulfilling Landscape Ordinance requirements can be given when preserving
trees of six (6) inch caliper or larger.
