Any new site development must comply with the City's minimal landscape and buffer ordinance
requirements and the requirements of the CUP approved by the Planning Commission, file
number Z-9298-A.
Signage is to be reviewed and permitted separately.
Landscape plan submitted was not complete. Permit cannot be released until landscape
requirements are met. Additional and complete review will be made upon receiving a scaled
landscape plan indicating plant symbols at a mature spread, proposed plant materials to be
installed, plant material sizes, proposed planting areas, and method of irrigation. Landscape
plan should include but may not be limited to the following
• Requirements for landscaping in land use buffers shall be the same as perimeter landscaping at
the rate of one (1) tree and three (3) shrubs for every thirty (30) linear feet.
Screening requirements will need to be met for any vehicular use areas adjacent to the street
right of way or any adjacent properties of a more restrictive use. Provide screening shrubs with
an average linear spacing of not less than three (3) feet on center and trees with an average
linear spacing of thirty (30) feet on center within the required landscape area.
• A perimeter planting strip is required along any side of a vehicular use area that abuts adjoining
property, or the right-of-way of any street. The minimum dimension shall be one-half (%) the full
width requirement but in no case less than six (6) feet nine (9) inches in designated mature
areas. One (1) tree and three (3) shrubs or vines shall be planted for every thirty (30) linear feet
of perimeter planting strip.
• Interior landscape areas shall comprise at least eight (8) percent of any vehicular use area
containing twelve (12) or more parking spaces. Trees shall be included in the interior landscape
areas at the rate of one (1) tree for every twelve (12) parking spaces.
• For any site, trees from two (2) different genuses are required. At least twenty-five (25) percent
of the trees on the site outside of those required for screening purposes are to be -of evergreen
variety.
• For any site, shrubs from two (2) different genuses are required. At least twenty-five (25)
percent of the shrubs on the site outside of those required for screening purposes are to be of
evergreen variety.
• Provide plant material schedule / legend and size specifications of proposed material. In order
to receive credit trees must be two (2) inches in caliper and shrubs must be eighteen (18) inches
in height at installation.
• An irrigation system shall be required for developments of one (1) acre or larger. For
developments of less than one (1) acre a there shall be a water source within seventy-five (75)
feet of all plant material if an automatic irrigation system is not provided. Provide note on the
landscape plan stating, the method of irrigation to be used or graphically indicate the location of
the proposed hose bibs.
Developments of two (2) acres or more requires the landscape plan be affixed with the seal of a
registered landscape architect. Development of sites two (2) acres or less requires the landscape
plan be prepared by a design professional.
4. All landscape areas shall be protected as per City of Little Rock Landscape Ordinance (Sec. 15-100).
Mulch, edging, wheel stops, and/or concrete curb and gutter will be required.
5. Any new ground or roof mounted mechanical systems shall be screened from abutting properties
and streets. Any trash receptacles or pickup shall be oriented away from a primary street side of the
property and screened from the public right-of-way. Screen shall exceed the height of the dumpster
or trash containment areas by at least two (2) feet not to exceed eight (8) feet total height.
6. The City Beautiful Commission recommends preserving as many existing trees as feasible on this
site. Credit toward fulfilling Landscape Ordinance requirements can be given when preserving trees
of six (6) inch caliper or larger.
