Permit cannot be released until landscape requirements are met. Additional and complete review will be made upon the receiving a landscape plan specifying the proposed plant materials, sizes, proposed planting areas, and method of irrigation 2. Any new site development must comply with the City's minimal landscape and buffer ordinance requirements. 3. Existing trees can be used to meet this requirement if the size and location is noted to remain on the site plan and protected during construction. 4. All mature vegetation to remain shall be protected as per City of Little Rock Landscape Ordinance (Sec. 15-100). Any trees or vegetation located in close proximity to construction shall have the area within the dripline fenced and protected from development activities. Note on plan the temporary method of protection. 5. Landscape plan should include but may not be limited to the following. Screening requirements will need to be met for any vehicular use areas adjacent to the street rights -of -way. Screening shrubs are required to be of an evergreen variety with an average linear spacing of no less than three (3) feet on center. In addition to the screening shrubs trees with an average linear spacing of thirty (30) feet on center are required within the landscape area. • A perimeter planting strip is required along any side of a vehicular use area that abuts adjoining property, or the right-of-way of any street. This strip shall be at least nine (9) feet wide. One (1) tree and three (3) shrubs or vines shall be planted for every thirty (30) linear feet of perimeter planting strip. Eight percent (8%) of the vehicular use area must be designated for green space; this green space needs to be evenly distributed throughout the parking area(s). The minimum size of an interior landscape area shall be one hundred fifty (150) square feet for developments with one hundred fifty (150) or fewer parking spaces. Interior islands must be a minimum seven and one half (7 1/2) feet in width. Trees shall be included in the interior landscape areas at the rate of one (1) tree for every twelve (12) parking spaces. • All landscape areas shall be protected as per City of Little Rock Landscape Ordinance (Sec. 15-100). Wheel stops, and/or concrete curb and gutter will be required between vehicular use areas and any turf or planting area. • An irrigation system shall be required for developments of one (1) acre or larger. For developments of less than one (1) acre a there shall be a water source within seventy- five (75) feet of all plant material if an automatic irrigation system is not provided. 6. The City Beautiful Commission recommends preserving as many existing trees as feasible on this site. Credit toward fulfilling Landscape Ordinance requirements can be given when preserving trees of six (6) inch caliper or larger
