Site plan must comply with the City's minimal landscape and buffer ordinance requirements. Signage is to be reviewed and permitted separately. Landscape plan is not complete. Additional review will be made upon resubmittal. Items that need to be addressed but are not limited to the following. o Developments with fewer than one hundred fifty (150) or more parking spaces shall have single -trunk trees with a minimum caliper of two (2) inches measured twelve (12) inches above grade at planting; or multitrunk trees with a minimum of three (3) canes with a minimum caliper of one (1) inch each measured twelve (12) inches above grade at planting. o For any site, trees from two (2) different genuses are required. At least twenty-five (25) percent of the trees on the site outside of those required for screening purposes are to be of evergreen variety. o For any site, shrubs from two (2) different genuses are required. At least twenty-five (25) percent of the shrubs on the site outside of those required for screening purposes are to be of evergreen variety. o Perimeter planting strips: Trees shall be planted with an average linear spacing of not less than thirty (30) feet. Three (3) shrubs or vines for every thirty (30) linear feet shall be planted in the perimeter planting strip. City of Little Rock Landscape Ordinance (Sec.15-96) o The parking area shall be screened from the adjacent right-of-way. Shrubs shall be provided at a rate of three (3) feet on center in order to provide continuous full screening of the view. Seventy-five (75) percent of the shrubs to be used for screening purposes shall be evergreen varieties. o Provide plant material schedule / legend and size specifications. o All landscape areas shall be protected as per City of Little Rock Landscape Ordinance (Sec. 15-100). Provide notes on plan specifying type and location of mulch, edging, wheel stops, and/or concrete curb and gutter. o Dumpsters or trash containment areas shall be screened and gated. City of Little Rock Zoning Ordinance (Sec. 36-523). 1. The screen shall exceed the height of the dumpster or trash containment areas by at least two (2) feet not to exceed eight (8) feet total height. Note or graphically indicate on the plan dumpster enclosure and gate. o Eight percent (8%) of the vehicular use area must be designated for green space; this green space needs to be evenly distributed throughout the parking area(s). The minimum size of an interior landscape area shall be one hundred fifty (150) square feet for developments with one hundred fifty (150) or fewer parking spaces. o Building landscape areas shall be provide at the rate equivalent to planter strip three (3) feet wide along the vehicular use area. One (1) tree and four (4) shrubs shall be planted in the building landscape areas for each forty (40) linear feet of vehicular use area abutting the building. o Return three (3) copies of the revised landscape plan to the Plans Development Administrator. o Developments of two (2) acres or more requires the landscape plan be affixed with the seal of a registered landscape architect. 4. The City Beautiful Commission recommends preserving as many existing trees as feasible on this site. Credit toward fulfilling Landscape Ordinance requirements can be given when preserving trees of six (6) inch caliper or larger. D.
