Before a building permit is issued landscape plans must be submitted for review which comply with Sec. 36-342.1. UU Urban Use District and the City's minimal landscape and buffer ordinance requirements. As per the UU district standards street trees must be installed which will include automatic irrigation and tree grates. If there are currently trees within this area they must be in good condition or replaced 36-342.1 states trees a minimum of three inch caliper shall be required. Trees shall be located a minimum of 2-feet off the back of the curb and no closer than 30-feet to a street intersection with a water source provided. Tree canopy shall be maintained at least 8-feet above the sidewalk. 3.9.15 Franchise application received 3.13.15 OK to release building permit. A building permit has recently been issued for this project which is restoring the ca. 1900 historic "Fulk" building (formerly Bennett's Military Supply) for new use as office space. The building owner is Terraforma LLC and we, Jameson Architects, are applying as their agent. Kinco Constructors is the general contractor. The improvements in the public right-of-way include sidewalk replacement along the north and east sides of the building, an ADA ramp, handrails, street trees with irrigation, and bollards (to protect the steel column supporting the corner of the building facing the busy intersection of Yd and Main). The addition of building -mounted awnings at the east storefronts is also included as part of this application. There are a number of improvements in the alley on the west side of the building including bollards and cutting and patching of the asphalt paving for utility -related work. Enclosed is a check for $75 along with the pertinent drawings at a reduced size. These can be provided in full- size PDF or 2406 print upon request.
