HomeMy WebLinkAbout16800 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,800 2 3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF 4 LITTLE ROCK TO CONVEY APPROXIMATELY ONE HUNDRED 5 ACRES OF LAND TO THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION 6 (FAA) FOR THE PURPOSES OF OPERATING A VOR CONE FACILITY 7 (A VERY HIGH RANGE OMNIDIRECTIONAL RANGE STATION), AND 8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Port Authority purchased one hundred acres of land in 2020 for the 11 purpose of building a VOR Cone facility to replace the VOR Cone facility adjacent to the Port of Little 12 Rock; and, 13 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Port Authority, working with the Little Rock Regional Chamber of 14 Commerce and the Congressional delegation, has completed construction of the new VOR Cone facility, 15 located northeast of Galloway, Arkansas; and, 16 WHEREAS,the construction of this new VOR Cone facility will open up over 1,000 acres of land for 17 economic development purposes at the Port of Little Rock; and, 18 WHEREAS,once the Federal Aviation Administration takes possession of the new VOR Cone facility 19 and decommissions the old VOR Cone facility,the FAA will transfer 55 acres of land to the City of Little 20 Rock for use by the Little Rock Port Authority.The land is located within the boundaries of the City's mega 21 site. 22 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 23 OF LITTLE ROCK: 24 Section That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute, in a form approved by the 25 City Attorney, any and all deeds and conveyance documents required in order to convey to the Purchaser, 26 or its assigns,that real property located in Pulaski County,Arkansas,that is more fully described as follows: 27 A tract of land in the South Half(51/2)of Section Eleven(11)and in the North Half(NI/2)of Section 28 Fourteen (14), all in Township Two(2)North, Range Eleven (11) West, Fifth (5th) Principal Meridian in 29 Pulaski County, State of Arkansas, being more particular described as follows: 30 31 Commencing at the Common Comer of Sections Eleven (11), Twelve (12), Thirteen 32 (13) and Fourteen (14); thence S 01°01'26" W along the East line of said Section 33 Fourteen(14)a distance of 1,008.99 feet; thence leaving said East line N 88°58'34" W Page 1 of 5] 1 a distance of 1,254.80 feet to the Point of Beginning;thence N 75°08'37"W a distance 2 of 2,087.11 feet to the East Right-of-Way line of 1-440 as established by ARDOT Job 3 Number R60015; thence N 14°51'15" E along said East Right-of-Way line a distance 4 of 2,087.10 feet;thence leaving said East Right-of-Way line S 75°08'37" E,a distance 5 of 2,087.20 feet; thence S 14°51'23" W a distance of 2,087.10 feet to the Point of 6 Beginning, containing 100.00 acres (4,356,091.63 Square Feet) more or less. And a 7 Thirty (30) foot wide easement for access and utilities in Sections Thirteen (13) and 8 Fourteen(14),all in Township Two(2)North.Range Seven(11)West,Fifth Principal 9 Meridian in Pulaski County,State of Arkansas. Severability.
