Any new site development must comply with the City's minimal landscape and buffer
ordinance requirements.
2. Signage is to be reviewed and permitted separately.
3. Crape Myrtles can be used in the landscape but will no longer be accepted by the
City of Little Rock to meet any tree requirements.
4. Eight percent (8%) of the vehicular use area must be designated for green space; this
green space needs to be evenly distributed throughout the parking area(s). The minimum
size of an interior landscape area shall be one hundred fifty (150) square feet for
developments with one hundred fifty (150) or fewer parking spaces. Interior islands must
be a minimum seven and one half (7 1/2) feet in width. Trees shall be included in the
interior landscape areas at the rate of one (1) tree for every twelve (12) parking spaces.
The plan indicates approximately 25,000 sq ft of paved area, provide a minimum of
minimum of 2,000 sq feet of interior landscape area.

5. Screening requirements will need to be met for any vehicular use areas adjacent to the
street right of way or any adjacent properties of a more restrictive use. Screening
requirements will need to be met for the vehicular use areas adjacent to the Bowman and
Kains Road rights -of -way.
Provide screening shrubs with a linear spacing of not less than three (3) feet on
center between the vehicular use area and the street rights -of -way. Shrubs must be a
minimum of 18" in height at installation.
Provide specifications on plan noting shrub materials are to be a minimum of 18" in
height. Verify that 3-gallon materials will meet the shrub material height
requirements or specify larger container size.
6. All landscape areas shall be protected as per City of Little Rock Landscape Ordinance
(Sec. 15-100). Wheel stops, and/or concrete curb and gutter will be required between
vehicular use areas and any turf or planting area.
7. All ground or roof mounted mechanical systems shall be screened from abutting
properties and streets. Any trash receptacles or pickup shall be oriented away from a
primary street side of the property and screened from the public right-of-way. Screen
shall exceed the height of the dumpster or trash containment areas by at least two (2) feet
not to exceed eight (8) feet total height.
8. The City Beautiful Commission recommends preserving as many existing trees as
feasible on this site. Credit toward fulfilling Landscape Ordinance requirements can be
given when preserving trees of six (6) inch caliper or larger.
