Josh,
Attached you will find the approved landscape plan for the above mentioned project. I was able to visit the site
yesterday and found seven (7) trees that are missing. As per City landscape code
Sec 15-52 (c) Continuous maintenance. Once a landscape plan has been approved, a digital and hard copy of the
approved plan shall be provided to the city and also kept on file with the owner/management company. The plan shall
remain on file with the city, and the site shall be maintained in conformance with the landscape plan. Any landscaping
materials or preserved or required trees that die within one year of planting shall be replaced one (1) for one (1) by the
responsible party unless additional trees are required to be planted to meet the spacing requirements of this chapter in
effect on the date of the most recent approved landscape plan.
After one (1) year of planting, any trees that die shall be replaced in accordance with the tree credits set forth in this
section. Trees that are destroyed or removed by act or consent of the responsible party shall be replaced in accordance
with the tree credits set forth in this section. Replacement shall occur as soon as reasonably possible in accordance with
the approved landscape plan and good horticultural practices and in compliance with this chapter.

Ex. The removal of (1) tree 6-12 inches in caliper would require (3) replacement trees a minimum of 3-4
`snches in caliper.
The missing or dead trees include four (4) Redbud, one (1) Green Ash, and two (2) Red Maple. All of these trees were
specified to be three (3) inches in caliper at installation. It is estimated that Green Ash and Red Maple would be
approximately sixteen (16) inches in caliper and the Redbud would be approximately twelve (12) inches in caliper after
thirteen (13) growing seasons. In accordance with the Tree Credit Chart four (4) replacement trees would be required
for the each Maple and Ash that is missing and three (3) replacement trees would be required for each missing Redbud.
A total of twenty-four (24) replacement trees a minimum of three (3) inches in caliper would be required to remedy this
code violation.
Since it would not be feasible to install twenty-four (24) new trees on this small site the following options would be
available.
Replace each of the missing trees one for one with new trees ranging in size of 3"-4" in caliper with the same or
similar species. (It is not recommended to install Ash any longer due to insect infestations). Also replace any
dead or dying shrubs or groundcover with new material matching the existing plants to provide full planting
beds as shown on the approved landscape plan.
Replace each of the missing trees one for one with new trees ranging in size of 3"-4" in caliper with the same or
similar species and in addition make a donation to the City's T.R.E.E. Fund for the cost of the additional trees
that can't be installed on site. To make a donation to the T.R.E.E. Fund would require a public hearing. More
information concerning this fund can be found in the Little Rock City Code, Sec. 15-37 T.R.E.E. fund,

Refresh the entire landscape. Provide a new landscape plan that will eliminate all or some of the existing plant
material and provide a new plan that meets or exceeds the cities landscape code requirements.
Also, as we discussed landscape can be installed at any time of year in central Arkansas but the fall and winter is the
optimum season since plant materials are dormant and experience less stress at installation.
Please feel free to contact me at your convenience if you have any questions or comments concerning this information.
Thank you,
