HomeMy WebLinkAbout12437I RESOLUTION NO. 12,437 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 ENTER INTO CONTRACTS WITH SEVEN ORGANIZATIONS TO 5 PROVIDE YOUTH INITIATIVE PROGRAM (YIP) IN TARGETED 6 NEIGHBORHOODS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, 9 intervention, and youth development programs and services to enhance public safety 10 and community- building, and 11 WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 6289 to solicit proposals for 12 Youth Initiative Programs in targeted neighbors for Little Rock youth, and 13 WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted on 14 December 22, 2006, determined the lowest responsible and responsive bidders, and 15 recommends the organizations listed below for contract awards. 16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 17 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 18 Section 1. Contracts for YIP -Youth Initiative Programs are hereby awarded to 19 the following organizations: 20 1. St. John/Unto Others (male - Central) $58,358.00 21 2. BCD -black Community Developers (male -Mid) 59,995.00 22 3. BCD -Black Community Developers (female -Mid) 59,999.00 23 4. Greater Second Care (female -SW) 51,042.00 24 5. Step Up Support Center (male -SW) 56,816.00 25 6. Step Up Support Center (female -SW) 56,538.00 [PAGE 1 OF 31 Resolution To Authorize Contracts to Provide Summer Recreation Programs 1 7. Promiseland Ministries (Hispanic male -SW) 53,968.00 2 8. Hunter United Methodist Church (male -West) 56,686.00 3 9. Hunter United Methodist Church (female -West) 57,186.00 4 10. Little Rock Boys and Girls Club Whetstone (male -SW) 59,415.00 5 TOTAL $570,003.00 6 Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts with these 7 organizations providing YIP -Youth Initiative Programs for targeted neighborhoods. 8 Section 3. Funds for these programs are from FUTURE - Little Rock tax 9 revenue specified for prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account 10 number SOOT458. 11 Section 4. The term of the contract is from February 7, 2007 to December 31, 12 2007, and may be extended for two additional one -year terms upon appropriation, 13 satisfactory performance and mutual agreement of the parties. 14 Section 5. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or 15 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not 16 affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and 17 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not 18 originally a part of this resolution. 19 Section 6. Repealer.
