HomeMy WebLinkAbout12438I RESOLUTION NO. 12,438 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 ENTER INTO CONTRACTS WITH SEVEN 5 ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE YOUTH NEIGHBORHOOD 0 f[I 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 BASED OUT -OF- SCHOOL TIME PROGRAMS IN TARGETED NEIGHBORHOODS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, intervention, and youth development programs and services to enhance public safety and community- building, and WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 6288 to solicit proposals for Targeted Neighbor -Based Programs Little Rock youth, and WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted on December 22, 2006, determined the lowest responsible and responsive bidders, and recommends the organizations listed below for contract awards. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. Contracts for targeted Neighborhood -based programs are hereby awarded to the following organizations: 1. Women's Council on African American Affairs $58,244.00 2. Love Letters the Universal Sound 54,670.00 3. Pulaski County Juvenile Services (East) 55,170.00 4. Faithcare /Inner City Futurenet (ages 6 -11) 52,561.00 5. Little Rock Boys /Girls Clubs- Mitchell Unit 58,715.00 7. Promiseland Ministries 55,140.00 8. LIZ Boys /Girls Clubs- Penick (ages 6 -11) 58,715.00 9. LR Boys /Girls Clubs- Penick (ages 12 -17) 58,715.00 10. LIZ Boys /Girls Clubs- Whetstone 58,715.00 11. Pulaski County Juvenile Services (Southwest) 58,887.00 12. In His Image Youth Development Center (SW) 55,000.00 TOTAL $673,567.00 Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into contracts with these organizations providing targeted neighborhood out -of- school time programs and services. Section 3. Funds for these programs are from FUTURE - Little Rock tax revenue specified for prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account number SOOT458. Section 4. The term of the contract is from January 17, 2007 to December 31, 2007, and may be extended for two additional one -year terms upon appropriation, satisfactory performance and mutual agreement of the parties. Section 5. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution. Section 6. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
