HomeMy WebLinkAbout12441I RESOLUTION NO. 12,441 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT 4 WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS FOR MEDICAL SCIENCES TO PROVIDE 5 OUTPATIENT ADOLESCENT SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT SERVICES; AND FOR 6 OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, intervention, and 9 youth development programs and services to enhance public safety and community- building, and 10 WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 6294 to solicit proposals for Outpatient 11 Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment Services for Little Rock residents, and 12 WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted on December 29, 13 2006, determined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences to be the lowest responsible and 14 responsive bidder, and recommends this organization for a contract award. 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE 16 ROCK, ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with the University of 18 Arkansas for Medical Science, not to exceed $198,216, to provide Outpatient Adolescent Substance 19 Abuse Treatment services, upon approval of the contract by the City Attorney. 20 Section 2. Funds for this program is from FUTURE - Little Rock tax revenue specified for 21 prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account number SOOT458. 22 Section 3. The term of the contract is from February 7, 2007 to December 31, 2007, and may 23 be extended for two additional one -year terms contingent upon appropriation, satisfactory 24 performance and mutual agreement of the parties. 25 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or adjudged to 26 be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions 27 of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged 28 invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of this resolution. 29 Section 5. Repealer.
