3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A SUB-AWARD AGREEMENT WITH THE LITTLE ROCK SCHOOL
5 DISTRICT TO ADMINISTER A GRANT TO SUPPORT GARDEN
6 EDUCATORS AT COMMUNITY SCHOOLS; AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas ("City") was awarded One Hundred-Twenty-Five
10 Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($125,000.00) from the African American Mayors Association
11 ("AAMA")for Nutrition Access,Affordability and Education for the Little Rock School District("LRSD");
12 and
13 WHEREAS,the City has partnered with LRSD to administer the grant and will align and build upon
14 existing efforts to provide nutrition and education through school gardens; and,
15 WHEREAS, the City will make a Fifty-Three Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($53,000.00) sub-
16 award to LRSD for the benefit of Chicot Elementary, McDermott Elementary, Mabelvale Elementary and
17 Watson Elementary for Garden Educators; and,
18 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The Board of Directors authorizes the City Manager to enter into a Sub-Award Agreement
21 with the LRSD in an amount not to exceed Fifty-Three Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($53,000.00), to
22 administer the AAMA Grant for Access Affordability and Education for the LRSD for the benefit of Garden
23 Educators for Chicot Elementary, McDermott Elementary, Mabelvale Elementary and Watson Elementary
24 Schools.
25 Section 2. Funds for the Sub-Award will be allocated by Account No. G 15F242.
26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
32 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
