HomeMy WebLinkAbout16767 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,767 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A 4 FIVE (5)-YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT WITH UNIVERSITY MARKHAM 5 HOLDINGS, LLC, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TEN DOLLARS 6 ($10.00), FOR THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARTMENT TO 7 MAINTAIN AN OFFICE SPACE WITHIN PARK PLAZA MALL IN 8 LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, the City is continually working to further reduce the crime rate and to explore new 11 methods of doing so;and 12 WHEREAS,University Markham Holdings,LLC("Owner")owns the Park Plaza Mall located at 13 6000 West Markham Street, Little Rock, Arkansas ("Mall"), and desires to lease office space to the 14 City for the nominal amount of Ten Dollars ($10.00), for use by the Little Rock Police Department 15 (the"LRPD"); and, 16 WHEREAS,the office space will allow the LRPD to have a presence in the Mall and a workspace 17 complete paperwork and perform other administrative functions;and 18 WHEREAS,the term of the lease shall be five(5)years. 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 20 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the Mayor to enter into a five (5)-year lease 22 agreement with University Markham Holdings, LLC, for office space in the Park Plaza Mall located 23 at 6000 West Markham Street,Little Rock,Arkansas,in an amount not to exceed Ten Dollars($10.00). 24 Section 2.Severability.In the event any title,section,paragraph,item,sentence,clause,phrase,or 25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force 27 and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part 28 of the resolution. 29 Section 3. Repealer.
