HomeMy WebLinkAbout16757 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,757 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY 4 AND ACCEPT SIX HUNDRED FIFTY-SIX THOUSAND NINETY-SIX 5 DOLLARS($656,096.00)IN GRANT FUNDING,WHICH WILL REQUIRE 6 ONE HUNDRED SIXTY-FOUR THOUSAND TWENTY-FOUR DOLLARS 7 ($164,024.00) IN CITY MATCH FUNDING, TO SUPPORT THE 8 REPLACEMENT OF TWENTY (20) OUTDATED MOTOROLA 9 DISPATCH CONSOLETTES AND RESTORATION OF THE MACH 10 ALERT FIRE DISPATCHING SYSTEM,FOR A TOTAL PROJECT COST 11 OF EIGHT HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS 12 ($820,120.00); AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 13 14 WHEREAS,the City of Little Rock's (the"City")Grants Division of the Department of Finance has 15 determined that the City meets eligibility requirements necessary to apply for a grant under the Arkansas 16 Community Assistance Grant Program;and, 17 WHEREAS, the City's Grants Division has presented plans for the replacement of twenty (20) 18 outdated Motorola dispatch consolettes in the City's Department of Emergency Communications and 19 restoration of the Mach Alert fire dispatching system;and, 20 WHEREAS, the City's Grants Division has furnished proof that they have raised the required 20% 21 cash match of One Hundred Sixty-Four Thousand Twenty-Four Dollars($164,024.00), in City funds to be 22 applied to the project as a local match. 23 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS; 25 Section 1.The City Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to submit an application of 26 formal request to the Arkansas Economic Development Commission for purpose of securing state grant 27 funds in the amount of Six Hundred Fifty-Six Thousand Ninety-Six Dollars($656,096.00),to aid and assist 28 the replacement of the Department of Emergency Communications dispatch consolettes and Mach Alert 29 fire dispatching system, in executing the proposed project described herein and that the City Manager is 30 further authorized to administer the grant funds for the same project. 31 Section 2.The City's 20%portion of the project funding is available in the Department of Emergency 32 Communications Capital Improvement Fund(Account 220512-43770). [Page 1 of 2] 1 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 2 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 3 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 5 resolution. 6 Section 4.Repealer.
