James, Donna From: lauren penn <reslpenn@yahoo.com> Sent: Thursday, October 30, 2014 11:53 AM To: James, Donna Cc: Carney, Dana Subject: Item 2, File S-1735 Concerning item 2 file S-1735, McCracken Land Development Preliminary hearing My house backs up to the proposed development. I have serious concerns about the development leaving green space between homes and the new development. The green space provides a sound and visual barrier. There are many developments on Kanis, and the noise will be drastically increased. It is crucial to the neighboring homes to leave a green space, or not build at all. Many of us purchased homes here because of the peace and quiet. No one wants to look out a bedroom window at Kanis or have people on Kanis looking in. Kanis is already a busy street. Please do not take our privacy away. Down Kanis near bowman, there were offices built and everything was bulldozed up to people's fence lines, and it looks terrible! There was also a retaining wall that collapsed and disturbed the ground and homes behind it. I am also very concerned about what this will do to my property value. Also, all of these new developments on kanis will be adding even more traffic. Making a left off Kirby/cooper orbit onto Kanis (intersection in front of Valero) is very difficult with the blind curve there. This is a very dangerous intersection already, and will be far more dangerous with increased traffic. This development absolutely MUST leave green space between our properties! They want to make money and will built homes on top of each other just to make a buck with no regards to the surrounding homes. It would be even better if nothing was built. Please do not allow them to destroy our peace and quiet, our privacy, drop our home values, or make our streets more dangerous.
