HomeMy WebLinkAbout16749 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,749 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONSTRUCTION SERVICES CONTRACT WITH THE GRIFFIN 5 GROUP, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED 6 THIRTY-ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($131,000.00), PLUS APPLICABLE 7 TAXES,FEES,AND A NINETEEN(19)PERCENT CONTINGENCY FEE IF 8 NEEDED,FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NEW RESTROOM FACILITIES AT 9 RESERVOIR PARK;AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS,because of the destruction of Reservoir Park's restroom facilities by the March 31,2023 12 tornado,a need arose for new restroom facilities to be constructed at the Park for residents and visitors use; 13 and, 14 WHEREAS,the City solicited bids for the new Reservoir Park restroom facilities construction project 15 via the Bonfire platform and received two responses, and The Griffin Group, Inc. was selected as the 16 responsive and responsible bidder meeting the specifications;and, 17 WHEREAS,the cost for The Griffin Group,Inc.to construct new Reservoir Park restroom facilities, 18 is in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Thirty-One Thousand Dollars($131,000.00), plus applicable 19 taxes,fees,and a nineteen(19)percent contingency fee if needed. 20 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS; 22 Section 1.The City Manager is authorized to enter into a construction services contract with The Griffin 23 Group,Inc., in the amount of One Hundred Thirty-One Thousand Dollars($131,000, including applicable 24 taxes, fees, and a nineteen (19) percent contingency fee, if needed, for construction of new restroom 25 facilities at Reservoir Park. 26 Section 2.FEMA funds in Account No.270459-G45DF23 I are being used for the construction of new 27 Restroom Facilities at Reservoir Park 28 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 31 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 32 resolution.
