Bozynski I would like to go on record with the Little Rock Planning Commission requesting the developer on the subject subdivision be made aware that there will be many people watching the manner in which they maintain the designinated buffer zone (Flood plane) . I think the 100' of wooded area along the North bank of Otter creek where there is a present silt fence erected be maintained with better maintance than the east part of this development had when it was built. I also observed that they had already pushed down trees and underbrush when they cleared the present roadway into this area , which I think the developer should be required to replace prior to doing any further development. I think a solid tree and underbrush area should be maintained as good as it was before they started working in this area. The present drainage that is in place is not functioning, and a drainage pipe is sticking up in the air with little erosion protection. The other concern I have this developer and engineer is they will clear -cutting the land for the 9 lots and this bare land will setting there for several years with no erosion control. I say this because when I toured that area there were 11 houses for sale and several undeveloped cleared lots. I have my doubts that these 9 lots will sell soon due to the housing slowdown and no one will be concerned with maintaining proper erosion control measures. I hate to see this strip of land developed as it is the only area of woods in this part of town. You cannot believe the wild life that has inhabited this area in the past several years. It is their last bit of protected area. I guess if this land was in a higher income neighborhood it would probably get more consideration, as it is I guess the planning commission will let it go through with or without any consideration of the present tax paying citizen or wildlife.
