HomeMy WebLinkAbout16708 1 2 RESOLUTION NO. 16,708 3 4 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 5 INTO A CONTRACT WITH HD ROOFING AND CONSTRUCTION IN 6 AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED EIGHTY-TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS 7 ($82,000.00) FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE CAFE AFRICA ROOF 8 REPLACEMENT PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS,Café Africa, located in the Little Rock Zoo, is a historic building originally constructed 11 in 1934;and, 12 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Zoo seeks a resolution to authorize HD Roofing and Construction for 13 roof replacement due to storm damage on the Café Africa;and, 14 WHEREAS, the cost of the project is Eighty-Two Thousand Dollars ($82,000.00) plus ten percent 15 (10%) contingency fee of Eight Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($8,200.00) if needed, and applicable 16 taxes and fees;and, 17 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Zoo issued a formal solicitation through the Bonfire bidding platform 18 and four(4)vendors submitted proposals with HD Roofmg and Construction being the lowest responsible 19 and responsive bid. 20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract agreement with HD Roofing and 23 Construction to replace and repair the roof of the Café Africa located in the Little Rock Zoo, in an amount 24 not to exceed Eighty-Two Thousand Dollars ($ 82,200.00), plus a possible 10% contingency of Eight 25 Thousand Two Hundred Dollars($8,200.00). 26 Section 2.Funds for this project are available from 210659/63211/S65B689 Storm Damage Account 27 with supplementary funding provided from SSA Group, Inc., the Little Rock Zoo's concessionaire 28 vendor. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 30 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 31 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall 32 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional 33 were not originally a part of the ordinance.
