HomeMy WebLinkAbout16696 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,696 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH CURTIS CONSTRUCTION, INC., IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED NINETY-SEVEN THOUSAND, TWO 6 HUNDRED NINETY DOLLARS ($97,290.00), FOR THE MORRISON 7 COURT DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER 8 PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, it has been deemed appropriate and necessary to analyze and design drainage 11 improvements near the east end of Morrison Court located in Ward 5;and, 12 WHEREAS,project improvements include construction of two junction boxes, underground drainage 13 pipe, a concrete overflow swale and related work; and, 14 WHEREAS, three (3) responses to an Invitation to Bid ("ITB"), Bid No. 3029 for Morrison Court 15 Drainage were received by the City of Little Rock;and, 16 WHEREAS, it was determined that Curtis Construction, Inc, provided the lowest responsive and 17 responsible bid meeting specifications. 18 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 20 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement for the Morrison Court 21 Drainage project with Curtis Construction, Inc. in an amount not to exceed Ninety-Seven Thousand, Two 22 Hundred Ninety Dollars ($97,290.00), which is the base bid amount of Eighty-One Thousand, Seventy- 23 Five Dollars($81,075.00),plus a twenty percent(20%)contingency, if needed. 24 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the 2022 Capital Improvement Bonds as authorized by Little 25 Rock,Ark., Resolution No. 15,968(May 2,2023),with funds available from Account Activity B5D047D. 26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 30 resolution. 31 Section 4.
