3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A CONTRACT WITH CURTIS
4 CONSTRUCTION, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE
5 HUNDRED EIGHTY-THREE THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED SIXTY
6 AND 40/100 DOLLARS, ($183,260.40), FOR THE BUTTERMILK
7 ROAD DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, it has been deemed appropriate and necessary to analyze and design drainage
11 improvements near the southern end of Buttermilk Road; and,
12 WHEREAS, project improvements include construction of curb inlets, underground drainage and
13 associated pavement repairs and related work; and,
14 WHEREAS, four (4) responses to an Invitation to Bid ("ITB"), Bid No. 3028 for Buttermilk Road
15 Drainage were received by the City of Little Rock; and,
16 WHEREAS, it was determined that Curtis Construction, Inc, provided the lowest, responsive,
17 responsible bid meeting specifications.
18 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement for the Buttermilk Road
21 Drainage project with Curtis Construction, Inc. in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Eighty Three
22 Thousand, Two Hundred Sixty and 40/100 Dollars ($183,260.40), which is the base bid amount of One
23 Hundred Fifty-Two Thousand, Seven Hundred Seventeen Dollars ($152,717.00), plus a twenty percent
24 (20%)contingency, if needed.
25 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the 2022 Capital Improvement Bonds as authorized by Little
26 Rock, Ark.,Resolution No. 15,968(May 2,2023)with funds available from Account Activity B4D037D.
27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
31 resolution.
32 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
33 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
