Good Morning,
I am writing to express my strong support for the rezoning of Goodwin Manor, the property located on Garrison Road, to allow for occasional charity events, lunch and dinner experiences,
and garden tours hosted by Chef Jennifer Maune, who will primarily use the home as a residence for her family.
There are already Event Venues, PCD’s, and Agricultural and Forestry zoned properties located all around the area and at the entrance to the neighborhood in close proximity to neighbors.
Rezoning Goodwin Manor would just follow the precedent that has already been set.
As a resident of this neighborhood for almost 40 years, I believe this rezoning would be a significant benefit to our community, offering great value to our neighborhood. It will also
provide a platform for positive community involvement.
Mrs. Maune's plans to offer well-run, meaningful gatherings that benefit charitable causes and promote a sense of belonging in western Pulaski County. These opportunities would bring
our community together for enjoyable experiences while fostering cultural and educational development.
I am certain that Mrs. Maune will approach these events with great care and consideration for the surrounding residents. Based on past events and knowledge of Jennifer’s character, I
have no doubt she will take appropriate measures to ensure minimal noise and traffic pollution. I understand the importance of preserving the character of our community, and I believe
that Mrs. Maune's proposal strikes a balance between community engagement and maintaining the peace and quiet that we all value.
I urge you to approve the rezoning request for this property. It is a unique opportunity to support a valuable member of our community and enhance the quality of life in our neighborhood.
I believe the Planning Commission's approval of this request would be a positive step toward fostering both charity and community engagement in a thoughtful and responsible manner.
Thank you,
Brittany McDonald (Smith)
