RE: Revision to the Preliminary Plat
Lot 86, Kenwood Estates Subdivision
Dear Mr. Moore:
The purpose of this letter is to request a revision to the preliminary plat for Lot 86 of
Kenwood Estates Subdivision and eliminate the 10-foot undisturbed buffer, which will
allow our existing 6-foot, wooden privacy fence to remain in -place.
We purchased our home on Lot 86 after construction was completed and trusted that
construction conformed to all City requirements. Our lot is a cul-de-sac lot, which limits
the depth of the backyard. If required to move our privacy fence in accordance with the
undisturbed buffer, our privacy fence will be 15 feet from the back door of our home.
This would create an unfitting hardship!
The undisturbed buffer was created through a concession that the subdivision developer
made in response to comments from Mr. Chad Young and Mr. Doug Meyer during public
meetings for preliminary platting of the subdivision in November 1999. Attached to this
letter are letters from Mr. Chad Young and Mr. Doug Meyer that state their support of
our request to eliminate the buffer for Lot 86.
We respectfully request consideration of our request on the upcoming Planning
Commission agenda.
Sincerely,
Frank McElwain

RE: Lot 86, Kenwood Estates

Privacy Fence
Commissioners:
As a past Vice President of the Stagecoach -Dodd Neighborhood Association, I am writing
in favor of keeping Mr. Frank Mclllwain's 6 foot privacy fence as it currently is and for him
to granted a waiver to the 10 foot undisturbed buffer. His fence is out of view of the
current streetscape and is in keeping with the natural setting of the community.
Sincerely,
JA041-

To the Little Rock Planning Commission:
My name is Doug Meyer and I am a landowner across the street from the Kenwood
subdivision. I agree to make an exception for Frank and allow him to have a 6' privacy
fence and not have to leave a 10' undisturbed buffer.
Please note this exception is for this lot only. I fully expect the city to make sure the
remaining lots comply, the fences be moved back 10' and that the "disturbed buffers" be
replanted to the city's requirements per the agreement by the developer Davis Fitzhugh.
Sincerely,
Douglas I Meyer
