HomeMy WebLinkAbout16649 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,649 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 PURCHASE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 3600 W. 11TH STREET 5 LITTLE ROCK AR 72204 FOR FACILITY-BASED HOUSING USING 6 U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING & URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) 7 FUNDS. 8 9 WHEREAS, the City wishes to purchase the property located at 3600 W. 1 l'h Street in Little Rock, 10 Arkansas 72204 for facility-based housing. 11 WHEREAS, City Staff has conducted a title search of the property which revealed clear title to the 12 property and no title issues;and, 13 \WHEREAS, Ark. Code Ann. § 14-54-302 requires that the City accept the property by resolution 14 adopted by the Board of Directors; 15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. The Board of Directors authorizes the City Manager or Mayor to enter into a contract to 18 purchase the property located at 3600 W. 11'h Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72204 with Arkansas 19 Children's Home Society, now known as Free Will Family Baptist Ministries, Inc., not to exceed Three 20 Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000.00) This residential property is approximately 12,500 square feet 21 +/- heat and cooled sitting on 1.84 acres +/- built in 1971. Parcel Number: 34L0510004100. Legal 22 Description NW OF SW SW SE 5 1N 12W. 23 Section 2. The property shall be used for a public purpose, specifically for Facility-Based Housing. 24 The property shall be purchased with funds from the United States Department of Housing and Urban 25 Development Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS programs,funding source 24009/G3563722. 26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 27 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 28 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall 29 remain in full force and effect a if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional 30 were not originally a part of the ordinance. 31 Section 4. Repealer.
