HomeMy WebLinkAbout16643 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,643 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH UNMANNED VEHICLE TECHNOLOGIES, 5 INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-SIX THOUSAND, 6 TWENTY-FOUR AND 78/100 DOLLARS($56,024.78),PLUS APPLICABLE 7 TAXES AND FEES, FOR THE PURCHASE OF SIX (6)ANZU ROBOTICS 8 RAPTOR T DRONES AND RELATED EQUIPMENT, TO EQUIP THE 9 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK WITH AERIAL DRONES; AND FOR OTHER 10 PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS,there is a need for the City of Little Rock(the"City")to be equipped with portable,aerial 13 drones to provide overwatch support to officers responding to incidents,allowing for rapid evaluation and 14 incident de-escalation;and, 15 WHEREAS,the City received an Arkansas Public Safety Equipment Grant—FY 2025, in an amount 16 of Fifty-Six Thousand Twenty-Four and 78/100 Dollars ($56,024.78), to cover the cost of developing a 17 patrol-based drone response team called the Secure Operations with Aerial Response (SOAR) Program; 18 and, 19 WHEREAS, the grant-approved budget provides funding for the purchase of six (6)Anzu Robotics 20 Raptor T drones, along with related equipment, software, support and product protection plans from 21 Unmanned Vehicle Technologies,Inc.,("UVT"),through Sourcewell Contract No.011223-UNM,pursuant 22 to Little Rock,Ark.,Resolution No. 16,603 (February 18,2025). 23 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS; 25 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with UVT for the purchase of six 26 (6)Anzu Robotics Raptor T drones,along with related equipment,software,support and product protection 27 plans at a total cost of Fifty-Six Thousand Twenty-Four and 78/100 Dollars($56,024.78),plus applicable 28 taxes and fees. 29 Section 2. Funding for this purchase is available from Arkansas Public Safety Equipment Grant FY 30 2025 funds in Account No.270529-60200-G52DS41. 31 Section 3.The operation of the Anzu Robotics Raptor T drones shall comply with all state and federal 32 laws governing the use of unmanned ariel devices and shall be available for use by the City's law 33 enforcement agencies for law enforcement purposes. [Page 1 of 2] 1 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 2 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 3 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 5 resolution. 6 Section 5.Repealer.
