HomeMy WebLinkAbout16642 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,642 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT WITH LANDSCAPE 5 STRUCTURES, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED NINE 6 HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($900,000.00), PLUS APPLICABLE 7 TAXES AND FEES, FOR CONSTRUCTION OF AN ACCESSIBLE 8 PLAYGROUND AT RESERVOIR PARK;AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS,the March 31,2023,tornado razed the previous playground at Reservoir Park; and, 11 WHEREAS,the City of Little Rock(the"City")has a need to construct a new accessible playground 12 to replace the play space destroyed by the tornado;and, 13 WHEREAS, the City has selected Landscape Structures, Inc., as the vendor for this construction 14 project utilizing Sourcewell Agreement Nos.010521 and 010721,pursuant to Little Rock,Ark.,Resolution 15 No. 16,603 (February 18,2025);and, 16 WHEREAS,the cost of constructing a new accessible playground at Reservoir Park is Nine Hundred 17 Thousand Dollars($900,000.00),plus applicable taxes and fees;and, 18 WHEREAS, the project will use FEMA and insurance funds to cover the cost of constructing a new 19 playground at Reservoir Park. 20 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS; 22 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Landscape Structures, 23 Inc., in an amount not to exceed Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars($900,000.00),plus applicable taxes and 24 fees,for construction of a new accessible playground at Reservoir Park. 25 Section 2. Funding for this construction project is available from FEMA Account No. 270459- 26 G45DF231 and Insurance Reimbursement Account No.210459-S45B7154. 27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 31 resolution. 32 Section 4.Repealer.All laws, ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with 33 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
