TUCKER 4 COMPANY,INC.,IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FOUR HUNDRED 5 THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND NINETY-FOUR DOLLARS AND 80/100 6 ($435,094.80)FOR THE PRESTON DRIVE AREA DRAINAGE,(PHASE 1 - 7 MOORE DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION)IMPROVEMENT PROJECT;AND 8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, it has been deemed appropriate and necessary to analyze and design drainage 11 improvements in the Preston Drive area to include the elimination of water standing in the street and gutters 12 of Moore Drive;and, 13 WHEREAS, project improvements include reconstruction of Moore Drive from Comstock Road to 14 Carling Road including the reconstruction of curb inlets, replacement of curb and gutter and roadway 15 resurfacing to restore drainage;and, 16 WHEREAS, bids were solicited for Preston Drive Area Drainage, (Phase 1 - Moore Drive 17 Reconstruction),Bid No.3003;and, 18 WHEREAS, H.W. Tucker Company, Inc. was the lowest responsive and responsible bid, meeting 19 specifications of three(3)bids received;and, 20 WHEREAS, the total cost for this contract shall not exceed Four Hundred Thirty-Five Thousand 21 Ninety-Four Dollars and 80/100($435,094.80),which is the base bid amount of Three Hundred Sixty-Two 22 Thousand Five Hundred Seventy-Nine Dollars($362,579.00),plus a twenty percent(20%)contingency. 23 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 25 SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with H.W. Tucker 26 Company,Inc., in an amount not to exceed Four Hundred Thirty-Five Thousand Ninety-Four Dollars and 27 80/100,($435,094.80),which is the base bid amount of Three Hundred Sixty-Two Thousand Five Hundred 28 Seventy-Nine Dollars($362,579.00)plus a twenty percent(20%)contingency. 29 SECTION 2. Funding for this project is from the 2022 Capital Improvement Bonds as authorized by 30 Little Rock,Ark.,Resolution 15,968(May 2,2023). Account Activity B7D072D. 31 SECTION 3. Severability.In the event any title,section,paragraph, item,sentence,clause,phrase,or 32 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 33 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and Page 1 of 2 1 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 2 resolution. 3 SECTION 4. Repealer.
