3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH BOYLES CONSTRUCTION COMPANY,
5 INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTY-THREE
6 THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED SIXTY-EIGHT DOLLARS ($73,968.00),
7 FOR THE LEANDER DRIVE AT KANIS ROAD CROSSWALK
8 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS,it has been deemed appropriate and necessary to analyze and design sidewalk projects in
11 Ward 4;and,
12 WHEREAS, needed project improvements include the construction of a new crosswalk with access
13 ramps and a sidewalk at the intersection of Leander Drive and Kanis Road to make the area safer for
14 pedestrians and children who wait for the school bus at this intersection; and,
15 WHEREAS,Invitation to Bid("ITB"),Bid No.3004,was issued by the City of Little Rock on January
16 23,2025,for the project at Leander Drive at Kanis Road Crosswalk; and
17 WHEREAS, six(6) bids were submitted and it was determined that Boyles Construction Company,
18 Inc.,was the lowest responsible and responsive bidder; and,
19 WHEREAS,the total cost for this contract shall be in an amount not exceed Seventy-Three Thousand,
20 Nine Hundred Sixty-Eight Dollars($73,968.00),which is the base bid amount of Sixty-One Thousand, Six
21 Hundred Forty Dollars,($61,640.00)plus a twenty percent(20%)contingency.
22 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
23 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
24 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Boyles Construction
25 Company, Inc., in an amount not to exceed Seventy-Three Thousand, Nine Hundred Sixty-Eight Dollars
26 ($73,968.00), which is the base bid amount of Sixty-One Thousand, Six Hundred Forty Dollars
27 ($61,640.00)plus a twenty percent(20%)contingency.
28 Section 2. Funds for this project are available from the 2022 Capital Improvement Bonds as authorized
29 by Resolution 15,968(May 2,2023),Account Activity B4D033S.
30 Section 3. Severabiliry. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
31 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
32 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and

1 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
2 resolution.
3 Section 4. Repealer.All laws, ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
4 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
