HomeMy WebLinkAbout16625 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,625 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SWAYZE, LLC FOR THE RINKE ROAD 5 DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO 6 EXCEED ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY- THREE THOUSAND, NINE 7 HUNDRED THIRTY-EIGHT AND 80/100 DOLLARS ($173,938.80); AND 8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, it has been deemed appropriate and necessary to analyze and design drainage 11 improvements for Rinke Road near Republic Lane to address water standing in the street; and, 12 WHEREAS,needed project improvements include the construction of curbs and gutters, curb inlets, 13 and underground storm drainage pipe; and, 14 WHEREAS,Invitation to Bid("ITB"),Bid No.3007 was issued by the City of Little Rock on January 15 29,2025 for the Rinke Road Drainage project;and, 16 WHEREAS,three (3)bids were submitted and it was determined that Swayze, LLC was the lowest, 17 responsible and responsive bidder;and, 18 WHEREAS,the total cost for this contract shall be in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Seventy- 19 Three Thousand,Nine Hundred Thirty-Eight and 80/100 Dollars,($173,938.80). 20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 21 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 22 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Swayze, LLC for 23 drainage improvements for Rinke Road near Republic Lane in an amount not to exceed One Hundred 24 Seventy-Three Thousand,Nine Hundred Thirty-Eight and 80/100 Dollars($173,938.80),which is the base 25 bid amount of One Hundred Forty-Four Thousand,Nine Hundred Forty-Nine Dollars($144,949.00)plus 26 a twenty percent(20%)contingency. 27 Section 2. Funding for this project is available from the 2022 Capital Improvement Bonds as authorized 28 by Resolution 15,968(May 2,2023)in Account Activity B2D017D. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 33 resolution. • Page 1 of 2 1 Section 4.
