HomeMy WebLinkAbout16624 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,624 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH SWAYZE, LLC, IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED EIGHT 6 THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($308,700.00), FOR 7 THE BROADWAY STREET DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT 8 PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, it has been deemed appropriate and necessary to analyze and design drainage 11 improvements for Broadway Street from West 33rd Street south to the railroad; and, 12 WHEREAS,the project improvements include reconstruction of Broadway Street with new 13 curbs and gutters, curb inlets, and underground storm drainage pipe to collect and convey runoff 14 away from residential properties;and, 15 WHEREAS,Invitation to Bid("ITB"),Bid No.3008 for Broadway Street Drainage was issued 16 by the City of Little Rock on February 20,2025; and, 17 WHEREAS, three (3) bids were received and it was determined that Swayze, LLC was the 18 lowest responsible bidder; and, 19 WHEREAS,this contract shall be in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Eight Thousand, 20 Seven Hundred Dollars,($308,700.00). 21 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 22 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 23 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement for the Broadway 24 Street Drainage project with Swayze, LLC in an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Eight 25 Thousand, Seven Hundred Dollars($308,700.00),which is the base bid amount of Two Hundred 26 Fifty-Seven Thousand, Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($257,250.00) plus a twenty percent (20%) 27 contingency. 28 Section 2. Funding for this project is available from the 2022 Capital Improvement Bonds as 29 authorized by Resolution 15,968(May 2,2023)in Account Activity B1D004D. 30 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 31 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 32 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall 33 remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional 34 was not originally a part of the resolution.
