3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH REDSTONE CONSTRUCTION GROUP,
5 INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED SIXTY-ONE
6 THOUSAND, FIFTY-FOUR DOLLARS AND 48/100 ($561,054.48), FOR
7 THE VALLEY DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT; AND FOR
8 OTHER PURPOSES

10 WHEREAS, it has been deemed appropriate and necessary to analyze and design drainage and
11 sidewalk improvements along Valley Drive near Watson Elementary School; and
12 WHEREAS, project improvements include the construction of a new sidewalk and improve
13 drainage to reduce water standing in yards and make Valley Drive safer for pedestrians; and
14 WHEREAS,bids were solicited for Valley Drive Reconstruction,Bid#2729; and
15 WHEREAS,Redstone Construction Group,Inc.,provided the lowest,responsive,responsible bid
16 meeting specifications of three(3)bids received; and,
17 WHEREAS,the total cost for this contract shall not exceed Five Hundred Sixty-One Thousand,
18 Fifty-Four Dollars and 48/100, ($561,054.48),which is the base bid amount of Four Hundred Sixty-Seven
19 Thousand, Five Hundred Forty-Five Dollars and 40/100, ($467,545.40) plus a Twenty percent (20%)
20 contingency; and,
21 WHEREAS,Funding for this project is from the 2022 Capital Improvement Bonds as authorized
22 by Resolution 15,968(May 2,2023)with funds available from Account Activity B2D012S;
23 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
24 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
25 SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Redstone
26 Construction Group,Inc.in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Sixty-One Thousand,Fifty-Four Dollars
27 and 48/100, ($561,054.48), which is the base bid amount of Four Hundred Sixty-Seven Thousand, Five
28 Hundred Forty-Five Dollars and 40/100,($467,545.40)plus a Twenty percent(20%)contingency.
29 SECTION 2. Funding for this project is from the 2022 Capital Improvement Bonds as authorized
30 by Resolution 15,968(May 2,2023). Account Activity B2D012S.
31 SECTION 3. Severability.In the event any title,section,paragraph,item,sentence,clause,phrase,
32 or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
33 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
34 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
35 resolution.

1 SECTION 4. Repealer.All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent
2 with the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
