HomeMy WebLinkAbout16575 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,575 2 3 A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF A UNITED STATES DE- 4 PARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION RAISE GRANT AP- 5 PLICATION BY THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF 6 PARKS, HERITAGE AND TOURISM FOR THE DEVELOP- 7 MENT OF TRAIL INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE DOWN- 8 TOWN URBAN CORRIDOR OF THE CITY OF LITTLE 9 ROCK, ARKANSAS;AND,FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS,the Arkansas Department of Parks,Heritage and Tourism has applied for a grant 12 from the United States Department of Transportation for a Raise Grant for the development of trail 13 infrastructure in the downtown urban corridor; and, 14 WHEREAS,this work would occur primarily in the area of Riverfront Park,the I-30 Crossing 15 Park and adjacent connected areas; and, 16 WHEREAS, the City funding for the match for such a grant would not exceed two million 17 five hundred thousand dollars($2,500,000.00)as part of the required twenty percent(20%)match 18 required for the grant; 19 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE 20 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The City of Little Rock,Arkansas ("the City"), supports the application by the Arkansas 22 Department of Parks,Heritage and Tourism for a United States Department of Transportation Raise Grant 23 for the development of trail infrastructure in the area consisting largely of Riverfront Park,the I-30 Crossing 24 Park,and adjacent connected areas. 25 Section 2. The City understands and accepts its responsibility to provide two million and five hundred 26 thousand dollars($2,500,000.00)in matching funds should this grant be successful. 27 Section 3. The City directs that the monies for any of its matching funds obligation will be taken from 28 the 2022 Voter Approved Bond Authorization funded by the millage—parks portion. 29 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju- 31 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution,which shall remain in full force and effect [Page 1 of 2] 1 as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the reso- 2 lution. • 3 Section 5. Repealer.
