Hannah,
Both of the contractors I contacted have said they can use a standard T-Wedge and we won't have to make the
custom brackets.
Attached are drawings (one quoted with 6" one quoted with 5"- so you'll see that discrepancy) but I've attached
two drawings to get a complete picture of what we're wanting to do. I think we will need to do 6" gutters and I think
the K-style will fit best both with the buildings existing crown and to attach properly.

Thank you for the information. I will get a photo of the bracket system to you- I'm having a couple of companies
come get me a quote and will see if they all feel that's necessary but initially when we looked at this a year or so
ago, I was told there isn't enough flat edge on the facia to attach gutters directly. We have used this on some non-
contributing buildings, and it is not visible unless you're underneath the gutter directly and even then, not very
noticeable.
Once I have better quotes, I'll send over the plan and make sure everything would be within the guidelines.
AND THANK YOU FOR THE WELL WISHES! We got lucky so far this year thank goodness. Thankfully our residents
followed the instructions and we only had to thaw here and there! Fingers crossed for no more nightmare weather.

Good afternoon Haley,
Are there any existing boxed/built-in gutters? If so, these will need to be repaired and utilized rather than removed
or replaced. If there are no existing built-in gutters, hang-on gutters would be appropriate and can be approved
administratively. The administrative review would require that downspouts are located away from architectural
features, be sized and located to ensure that water flows away from the building, and all gutter components be
colored or painted to reduce visibility. Additionally, our current guidelines recommend half-round gutters, but I
tend to allow ogee or K-style gutters in consideration of specific architectural styles.
Could you provide an example of the gutter installation with brackets? I want to make sure I’m on the same page
with what you are describing.
Hope y’all are staying warm and your buildings are doing well with the weather!
Thanks,

Hi Hannah,
We have found ourselves needing to add gutters to 515 E 8th Street after the weather this week. Would that be
something we could get approved at staff level? It's pretty straightforward, we would use gutters of appropriate
size with a downspout on each corner in a cream color that blends with the trim (and would actually match the
brick pretty well). There is a slight issue with where the soffit and facia meet where we would have to install with
brackets, but we've done this on other buildings and from street view, it will look like typical gutters.
Please let me know the right course of action and I will get to work on next steps.
Thank you,
Haley Shelton
