Hello,
We have a historic home built in 1859 at this address. It was the home of well known
preservationist Richard Butler for over 50 years. When Richard passed in 2020, we used
his estate to create a charitable foundation in his honor for the restoration and
preservation of his home, the Kadel Cottage, at this address.
Mr. Butler built a new carriage house in a historic style behind his home in 2005. The
attorney who represents the foundation has always had concerns the carriage house
would put our IRS clearance at risk since it is not historic.
This lot split would allow us to remove the carriage house from the historic house parcel
and use it for a monthly rental in an area that has a need.
