3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO IMPLEMENT A
4 DIGITAL SKILLS GROWTH PROGRAM AT J.A. FAIR WITHIN THE LITTLE
5 ROCK SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR AFTER-SCHOOL AND SUMMER SCHOOL
6 PROGRAMS; TO USE ONE HUNDRED AND 1i'IF'TEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS
7 ($115,000.00)FROM A UNITED STATES CONFERENCE OF MAYORS GRANT
8 FOR SUCH PROGRAM TO PURSUE DIGITAL EQUITY PROGRAMS OF THE
9 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS ("THE CITY") AND, TO PERMIT THE
10 CITY TO COOPERATE WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS FOR
11 MEDICAL SCIENCES ("UAMS") AND THE LITTLE ROCK SCHOOL
12 DISTRICT ("LRSD") IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS PROGRAM; AND
13 FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

15 WHEREAS,the City was awarded$150,000.00 from the United States Conference of Mayors, Talent
16 for Tomorrow to implement after Digital Skills Growth Programming for after school and summer school at
17 JA Fair for the Little Rock School District(LRSD);and,
18 WHEREAS, the City has partnered with University of Arkansas Medical Sciences (UAMS) to
19 administer the grant and will align and build upon existing efforts to promote Digital Equity; and,
20 WHEREAS,the City will make a One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($115,000.00) sub-award
21 to the UAMS for the benefit of one year of robotics and digital health technologist for the after school and
22 summer school program at JA Fair; and,
23 WHEREAS,the program is currently managed by the City of Little Rock;and,
24 WHEREAS the cost of UAMS' effort on this program is One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Dollars
25 ($115,000.00)with funding available from USCM Talent Digital Skills 270259 G25F244;and,
26 WHEREAS,the JA Fair Afterschool Program currently has seventy(70)students enrolled;
27 NOW,'THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
28 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
29 Section 1.The City Manager is authorized to enter into a Sub-Award Agreement with the University
30 of Arkansas Medical Sciences (DAMS) to administer the One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Dollars
31 ($115,000.00)grant to promote Digital Equity.
32 Section 2. Funds for the One Hundred Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($115,000.00) sub-award are
33 available om the USCM Talent Digital Skills 270259 G25F244.

1 Severability.In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this
2 resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall
3 not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the
4 portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution.
5 Section 3.Repealer.All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
6 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
