RE: Missionary Baptist Seminary
Rezoning Application
Mr. Moore,
Please find attached the application, survey, affidavit and filing fee for the above referenced project.
The Missionary Baptist Seminary has existed at this location for decades. The Seminary intends to
relocate and is moving forward with selling portions of their property. In order to facilitate the sale,
the Seminary wishes to rezone the north 38.3 acres to 14 and OS and the southern 8.8 acres to MF42.
The southeast corner of the property which contains 9.55 acres where the Seminary building is
located will be held for rezoning to a later date when there is a buyer that will determine the future
use. The northern portion that is planned for I-1/OS is currently undeveloped. The southern portion
has existing apartment buildings for the Seminary students.
The Seminary currently has the northern 38.3 acres under contract to sell. The proposed buyer will
require I- zoning which matches the current zoning of the property to the north and west. With this
application, the east 100 ft. of the 38.3 acres will be rezoned to Open Space which will screen the
existing residential properties to the east. The Open Space will remain as undisturbed timber except
for extending utilities from the east to the proposed 1-1 property.
