CITY BEAUTIFUL
COMMISSION
MEETING MINUTES
The City Beautiful Commission held a planned meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 18,
2024, at Little Rock City Hall, 2nd Floor, Board of Directors’ Chambers, 500 W. Markham St.
Chairman Steven Homeyer called the meeting to order.

ALSO PRESENT: Beth Carpenter, Little Rock City Attorney’s Office

APPROVAL OF THE AUGUST MEETING MINUTES:
Motion: A motion was made that the September 26, 2024, minutes be approved.
Second: The motion was seconded, and it passed unanimously.
VARIANCE REQUEST:
None requested.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Expense Report:
Staff will coordinate with Adam and Brad Jordan for bank account information.

Public Relations:
Dax Chance volunteered to take over Public Relations. Staff to look into access to the CBC
Facebook account

Landscape Awards:
The Commission voted on the 2024 Landscape Awards. The winners are:
Cypress Plaza – 2200 Rodney Parham Rd (Ward 4)
Brodie Creek Subdivision – Bowman Rd & Brodie Creek Trail (Ward 7)
The Fitzroy Promenade – 701 Rahling Rd (Ward 5)
Chairman Homeyer will oversee the creation of the framed photo awards to be presented to the
recipients and coordinate with staff on date and delivery of awards.
A motion was made to approve spending $500 on the creation of the awards. The motion was
seconded and passed unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS:
• Elections for the offices of Chairperson, Vice-Chair, and Treasurer were held. Steve Homeyer
was elected Chairperson. Dax Chance was elected Vice-Chair. Adam Wierciak was elected
Treasurer. All officers were approved unanimously.
• Staff presented the 2025 calendar. There was a brief discussion about the November and
December 2025 dates being on a Monday to accommodate holiday schedules. There was a
motion to approve. The motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The next Commission meeting will be December 16, 2024.
ADJOURNMENT:
Chairman Homeyer entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting.
Motion: A motion was made for the meeting to adjourn.
Second: The motion was seconded, and it passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:31 pm.
