Dear Department of Planning and Development:
The reason for this variance request is that there is a large, old tree on my property at
2209 Maryland that I would like to preserve, I did try to design the house to avoid having to
remove it. However with the 25 foot setback from the front property line the house ends up to
close to the tree to avoid removing it. I would like to change the setbacks for this house to 15
foot from the front property line to avoid having to take this tree down. I don't believe this
change would affect the looks of this neighborhood, as most of the other older properties in
this area are much closer than 25 feet from that front property line. Thank you for your time.
