To whom it may concern;
I, Overdis McKenzie Sr. resides at 9 Hatfield Drive, located in Little Rock. The matter of our
fence is in question on today. Hence I would like to explain the reasoning beinin i the height of
the fence. Our property was inhabited by tenants on 08-2020, and we experienced practically a
total loss of the property by fire. We were harshly reminded that this is a high crime area and our
property was not exempt As we were renovating the property, we were plagued by several
accounts of theft, including vehicle theft.
We also have English Bulldogs that protect and are protected by this fence as well as with
cameras. We realize that any fencing will always have a special place in the design of a home.
The appearance is neat and low key nature. It gives our property
the protection and look it needs to keep our kids and pets inside
and unwanted visitors out.
The fence is approximately 5 feet tall with solar light mountings on top of tiered post. Our fence
has beautified the neighborhood, to which is on the decline, and is much needed. Our fence
doesn't block any views from the street. In fact it creates a welcoming view into the
neighborhood and creates a calming effect that has been embraced by everyone.
The presence of the fence has also enhanced the residents property values, again, of an otherwise
declining neighborhood. My stance is that there is still hope and every positive attribute and
affirmation for my neighborhood. I am asking that the board would please consider this variance
request, for the sake of the community in which it stands and the safety of my property, family
and pets.
