Licensed in Arkansas • Alabama • Kansas • Louisiana • Mississippi • Missouri • Oklahoma • Tennessee • Texas October 17, 2023 To: Markus Homes From: Steve Garrett PhD, PE Subject: 93 Orle Circle Upper Retaining Wall Pool Construction The construction of the pool foundation will significantly reduce the lateral pressure on the previously constructed short upper retaining wall. In addition, it will decrease the lateral pressure on the lower wall by reducing the load from 125 pcf of soil weight to 62.5 pcf for the weight of water. There will be no added hydrostatic pressure due to the pool. The pool wall may be placed within 2 feet of the existing upper wall. The excavator shall not dig through or pull any existing grid. The grid should be cut where encountered. Only the upper grid will be altered by the installation of the pool.
