HomeMy WebLinkAboutResponse to Comments & Variance Request 071124Attention: City of Little Rock Planning and Development.
Here are the responses to the questions/comments.
Response to question 1:
I am requesting a variance for my proposed garage/living unit based on several factors.
First, I plan to build on the original footprint of the south and east sides, the sides of the property line in question. The garage was originally placed at this location to match
the driveway and the layout of the original property. I plan to keep the driveway itself, intact, and also plan to use the garage for a vehicle. Therefore keeping this original footprint
will allow me to park in the garage and the layout will match the original plan.
Second, there is a fence between my neighbors and myself. I have spoken with my neighbor on the south side and she is fine with the proposed plan. The proposed footprint allows for room
between the properties and does not affect her fence and property as it is set up. Basically she understands that space between will remain very close to the same as it is with the
current garage.
Third, by moving the layout more towards the north I am encroaching on a well established oak tree. This tree is older than the house and has very established roots. It is part of the
property and I do not want to encroach on it anymore than I have to.
Thank you so much for your consideration. I appreciate your time and help in this process. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to clarify my request further.
Response to question 2:
I plan to reuse tongue and groove pine boards from the old garage. The size is easy to match and I will finish the rest of the structure to match the siding. The structure will be painted
to match the house and the original siding. Different than the original structure there will be plywood underlayment and Vapor barriers to adhere to building codes.
Thank you for your consideration,
