HomeMy WebLinkAbout12375C RESOLUTION NO. 12,375 2 A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE PARTICIPATION BY THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, AR- 3 KANSAS IN THE LITTLE ROCK /NORTH LITTLE ROCK HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN 4 APPROVED BY THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY; AND FOR 5 OTHER PURPOSES. l; 7 WHEREAS, by identifying problems and potential solutions in advance of a disaster the 8 City will be in a better position to obtain both pre- disaster and post- disaster funding; and 9 WHEREAS, adoption of a hazard mitigation strategy will increase the City's eligibility for 10 assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Mitigation Assis- 11 tance program; and 12 WHEREAS, after public notices were published to encourage citizens to participate in the 13 planning process for a hazard mitigation strategy a hazard mitigation strategy was drafted 14 and approved by FEMA; 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE 16 ROCK, ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. The Mayor, the City Manager, and the City Clerk, are authorized to take any 18 and all steps necessary to assure that the City adopts and approves the Little Rock /North 19 Little Rock Hazard Mitigation Plan as approved by FEMA. 20 Section 2. The Little Rock /North Little Rock Hazard Mitigation Plan prepared in 2006, 21 being quite voluminous, is incorporated by reference into this Resolution as if it were a part 22 of the resolution. 23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, 24 phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such 25 declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall re- 26 main in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional 27 was not originally a part of the resolution. 28 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsis- 29 tent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
