PROPOSAL RE UEST: This application proposes to construct a hotel facility on a 5.6 acre site adjacent to I-440. These structures will be 2-story buildings with a total of 190 rooms. B. EXISTING CONDITIONS: This property is filled with dirt, ready for construction. Access will be shared with the existing Holiday Inn off Bankhead Drive. C. ENGINEERING COMMENTS: No engineering review comments. D. ISSUES LEGAL TECHNICAL DESIGN: 1. Eliminate two parking spaces to prohibit from backing up on the driveway 2. ANALYSIS• The Planning Staff review of the site reveals no problems with the proposal as presented. F. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the application subject to Staff comments. SUBDIVISION COMMITTEE MEETING (January 31, 1991) Mr. Wingfield was present. This matter was discussed briefly. The two points that we indicated by the staff for further review were the applicant revising parking next to the entrance and showing signs according to the ordinance. There was als6 additional discussion about landscape requirements. The Staff suggested that the applicant meet with Bob Brown from our department to discuss additional landscape requirements. PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION (February 12, 1991) There were no objectors in attendance. The application was represented. After a brief discussion, the Commission determined it appropriate to place this item on the consent agenda for approval. A motion was made to that effect and passed by a vote of 10 ayes, 0 nays, and 1 absent. 1
