3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH TRANSAMERICA LIFE INSURANCE
5 COMPANY FOR VOLUNTARY GROUP UNIVERSAL LIFE INSURANCE
6 FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2025, TO DECEMBER 31,
7 2025; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,the City provides certain voluntary insurance options for its employees and their depend-
10 ents,and,
11 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, decided in 2017 that the
12 Insurance Broker selected through the professional service process would have the ability to conduct any
13 competitive selection process for the City of Little Rock's insurance needs in Little Rock,Ark.,Ordinance
14 No.21,442(July 5,2017);and,
15 WHEREAS,after a competitive selection process it was determined that the most qualified applicant
16 with the best overall rate to provide Voluntary Group Universal Life Insurance for the current City employ-
17 ees is Transamerica;and
18 WHEREAS,the voluntary benefits are optional for City employees and solely at the expense of the
19 employee.
20 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
21 LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
22 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Transamerica Life Insurance
23 Company for the period of January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, for Voluntary Group Universal Life
24 Insurance for City employees and their dependents.
25 Section 2. Funds required for this contract are solely at the expense of the employee and are held in
26 accounting unit 100000 account 22400.
27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this Resolution is declared or adjudged to be
28 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this
29 Resolution,which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
30 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this Resolution.
31 Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
32 any provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
