3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN FAMILY LIFE ASSURANCE
5 COMPANY OF COLUMBUS (AFLAC) FOR VOLUNTARY GROUP
6 ACCIDENT INSURANCE FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1,
7 2025,TO DECEMBER 31,2025; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,the City provides voluntary insurance options for its employees and their dependents,and
to after a competitive selection process it was determined that the most qualified applicant with the best overall
11 rate to provide Accident Insurance options for the current City employees is American Family Life Assur-
12 ance Company of Columbus(AFLAC);and,
13 WHEREAS,the voluntary benefits are optional for City employees and solely at the expense of the
14 employee.
15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
16 LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with American Family Life
18 Assurance Company of Columbus(AFLAC)for the period of January 1,2025,to December 31, 2025, for
19 Voluntary Group Accident Insurance for City employees and their dependents.
20 Section 2. Funding for the voluntary benefits for City of Little Rock employees is solely at the
21 expense of the employee.
22 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this Resolution is declared or adjudged to be
23 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this
24 Resolution,which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
25 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this Resolution.
26 Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
27 any provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
