3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH SYMETRA LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY
s FOR VOLUNTARY HOSPITAL INDEMNITY INSURANCE FOR THE
6 PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2025, TO DECEMBER 31,2025; AND
7 FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,the City provides a Voluntary Hospital Indemnity Insurance option for its employees and
to their dependents,and after a competitive selection process it was determined that the most qualified appli-
11 cant with the best overall rate to provide such insurance options for the current City employees is Symetra
12 Insurance; and,
13 WHEREAS,the voluntary benefits are optional for City employees and solely at the expense of the
14 employee.
15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
16 LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Symetra Life Insurance
18 Company for the period of January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, for Voluntary Hospital Indemnity
19 Insurance for City employees and their dependents.
20 Section 2. Funds required for this contract are solely at the expense of the employee and are held in
21 accounting unit 100000 account 22400.
22 Section 3. Severability. In the event any portion of this Resolution is declared or adjudged to be
23 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this
24 Resolution,which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or
25 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this Resolution.
26 Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
27 any provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
