HomeMy WebLinkAbout16464 1 RESOLUTION NO. 16,464 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO CONTRACTS WITH AJS HOMES LLC AND RENAISSANCE LLC 5 FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIX HUNDRED TWENTY- 6 TWO THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED NINE AND 57/100 DOLLARS 7 ($622,409.57) TO PROVIDE HOMELESS OUTREACH SERVICES; AND 8 FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 12,003 (May 17, 2005), the Board of Directors ap- 11 proved partnerships with other agencies to end Chronic Homelessness within the City of Little Rock, Ar- 12 kansas ("the City"); and, 13 WHEREAS, in a continued effort to decrease homelessness in the City of Little Rock, an Invitation 14 to Bid("ITB")was issued to obtain an entity to increase Homeless Services Resources for the unsheltered 15 residents in certain areas of the City;and, 16 WHEREAS,the ITB was completed by the Procurement Division for three(3)properties located in 17 Ward 6,under Bid Event Nos.2570,2539,2540 and it was determined that: 18 Bid No. 2570, AJS Homes, LLC, was the lowest responsive bidder of the three (3) bids received for 19 new home construction located at 4418 Holt,Little Rock,Lot 5;Block 9,Euclid Place Addition to the 20 City of Little Rock Pulaski County, Arkansas, in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Thousand 21 Five Hundred and No/100 Dollars($200,500.00); 22 Bid No. 2539, Renaissance Construction, LLC,was the lowest responsive bidder of the four(4) bids 23 received for new home construction 4422 Holt, Lot 6; Block 9, Euclid Place Addition to the City of 24 Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Nine Thousand 25 Nine Hundred Nine and 57/100 Dollars($209,909.57); 26 Bid No. 2540, AJS Homes, LLC, was the lowest responsive bidder of the five (5) bids received for 27 new home construction 4411 Holt,Little Rock, Lot 21; Block 9, Euclid Place Addition to the City of 28 Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Twelve Thousand 29 and No/100 Dollars($212,000.00); 30 WHEREAS,upon the formal adoption of this resolution,a contract will be negotiated, finalized, and 31 executed with AJS Homes LLC and Renaissance Construction LLC for three(3)new homes construction 32 in Ward 6 utilizing HOME Funds accounting and activity accounts consistent with the City's focus to end 33 homelessness for the HOME Investment Partnership Program to maximize services for the homeless and [Page 1 of 3] 1 unsheltered. 2 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 3 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 4 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into agreements for 5 construction of three(3)new homes in Ward 6 for a total amount not to exceed Six Hundred Twenty Two 6 Thousand Four Hundred Nine and 57/100 Dollars ($622,409.57)to provide Homeless Outreach Services 7 consistent with the City's focus to end homelessness and to maximize services for the homeless and un- 8 sheltered on property located in the City of Little Rock,Pulaski County,Arkansas: 9 (1) AJS Homes LLC for new home construction at 4418 Holt Street: Lot 5; Block 9, Euclid Place 10 Addition to the City of Little Rock Pulaski County, Arkansas, 72204 in an amount not to exceed 11 Two Hundred Thousand Five Hundred and No/100 Dollars($200,500.00); 12 (2) Renaissance Construction LLC for new home construction at 4422 Holt Street: Lot 6; Block 9, 13 Euclid Place Addition to the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, 72204 in an amount 14 not to exceed Two Hundred Thousand Five Hundred and No/100 Dollars($200,500.00); 15 (3) AJS Homes LLC for new home construction at 4411 Bowers Street: Lot 21; Block 9, Euclid 16 Place Addition to the City of Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, 72204 in an amount not to 17 exceed Two Hundred Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Nine and 57/100 Dollars($209,909.57). 18 Section 2. Funds for this program are available through the HOME Funds. 19 Section 3.All payments are conditioned upon entry into a contract for construction services; further, 20 nothing in this resolution limits the ability of the City, in its sole discretion, to procure similar services 21 from another vendor during the term of the contract authorized here. 22 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 23 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 24 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution,which shall remain in full force and 25 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 26 resolution. 27 Section 5. Repealer.
